Bondtite is known for a range of natural adhesives that have been used in the production of composite wood and corrugated cardboard for more than half a century. Bondtite’s research and development has yielded several other exciting product applications that offer powerful alternatives to synthetics in industrial applications, agriculture and water treatment.
Bondtite 945 is our base product, comprising of concentrated, unmodified tannins for general use.
Bondtite 241 is primarily used as an additive to phenol formaldehyde (PF) resins and has also been used in the construction of water and boil proof (marine grade) plywood when used with paraformaldehyde hardeners.
Bondtite 242 is used as the basis in spreadable adhesive formulations used in plywood-type applications. When used with hexamine as crosslinker/hardener, the result is boards that comply with formaldehyde-emissions regulations while still being regarded as exterior grade.
Bondtite 345 is dissolved in water to yield a low-viscosity, sprayable solution used in the manufacture of MDF and particle boards. When used with hexamine as a crosslinker/hardener, the result is boards that comply with formaldehyde-emissions regulations.
Bondtite BL-1 is a liquid resin used as an effective damp-proofing agent for corrugating starch adhesives.
Bondtite 242, when used on its own in starch-base glue mixes may improve the “runability” of the corrugating line, however the water resistance of the glue line will be strengthened by adding a formaldehyde source, like paraformaldehyde, into the glue mix to crosslink with the tannins in Bondtite 242 in the glue mix.
Bondtite TAN-X is designed for use in froth flotation beneficiation processes to improve the rejection of gangue minerals and improve flotation selectivity for value minerals. TAN-X is particularly effective in depressing calcite, dolomite, Ca-Al-Mg silicates, talc and clays, and it acts also as a depressant, reducing the risk of undesirable floatable minerals becoming entrained in the froth.
Bondtite TAN-XS is designed for the same use cases as TAN-X and shares the same features. It offers improved strength as a depressant but is less forgiving to overdosing and requires more careful control of its dosing rates.
Bondtite SEP-X50 is effective for the dispersion and subsequent depression of pyrite, pyrrhotite and most sulphides. SEP-X50 can be used in tandem with TAN-X or TAN-XS in subsequent stages of the flotation flowsheet.
SupleMim, a Phytogenic Feed Additive (PFA) is based on condensed tannins extracted from the bark of the acacia mearnsii. This 100% natural, renewable, and sustainable extract, contains polyphenolic and prebiotic components and can be safely introduced into animal feeds to enhance health and nutrition in animals. Polyphenols, part of the plants natural defence mechanism, are widely recognised as antioxidants and are useful to modulate, support and improve certain metabolic processes in animals naturally.
Lucent is a Natural Coagulant solution based on condensed tannins from acacia mearnsii bark extract, offering an eco-friendly and effective alternative to inorganic & synthetic coagulants. Lucent aims to become an essential component in sustainable and renewable water treatment strategies.
