Our Vision

NTE Company (Pty) Ltd – Iswepe Factory is committed to reducing energy consumption, improving energy efficiency and minimising environmental impact in alignment with ISO 50001:2018 standards. This policy outlines NTE’s approach to sustainable energy management while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 

Our Goals

As part of NTE’s commitment to energy sustainability, NTE aims to:

  1. Optimise Energy Use: Continuously improve energy performance across all operations by implementing efficient processes, adopting modern renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies and reducing waste.
  2. Environmental Stewardship: Minimise greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, air and water pollution, and protect resources through the promotion of renewable energy resources and energy-efficient technologies.
  3. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable energy-related legislation, regulations and standards.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Actively involve employees, suppliers and stakeholders in achieving energy goals by promoting awareness, training and collaboration.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Regularly review and improve the Energy Management System (EnMS) to align with operational changes, technological advancements and organisational goals.

Our Objectives

  • Achieve a measurable reduction in energy intensity by 0.5% per annum over the period of 2025-2030.
  • Transition to renewable energy sources for 5% of total energy consumption by 2030.
  • Conduct regular annual energy performance audits to identify areas of improvement.
  • Integrate energy efficiency principles in the design, procurement and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

Scope

This policy applies to all energy-related activities, equipment, processes and personnel within the NTE Iswepe Factory.

Our Responsibilities

  • Senior Management: Provide leadership, allocate resources and set clear objectives for energy performance improvement.
  • Energy Management Team: Develop, implement and maintain the EnMS in accordance with ISO 50001 standards.
  • Employees: Adhere to energy policies, participate in training programs and contribute to energy-saving initiatives.

Implementation Plan

  •  Energy Baseline Establishment: Measure and document current energy consumption to create a baseline.
  • Energy Performance Indicators (EnPIs): Define metrics for monitoring energy performance.
  • Energy Action Plan: Develop a detailed action plan addressing energy-saving opportunities, responsibilities and timelines.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct regular training for employees to ensure effective participation in energy management.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Track energy performance, communicate results to stakeholders and make data-driven decisions.
